Bridalveil Falls

from $225.00

Title: Bridalveil Falls

There’s something about granite, waterfalls, the interplay of light with the environment. For this shot, I used a 720 nm infrared filter so both slow the shutter speed and render the granite with extra contrast. I waited for a beam of light to just strike the falls during the exposure for the extra ingredient. The combination is one of my favorite photos I’ve captured.

Medium Options

Photography is available in three different media formats. Please do not hesitate to reach out at inquiries@matthewraifman.com if you have questions or would like a custom format.

Fine Art Print

Image is printed on a high-end archival, matte, heavy stock fine art paper specifically chosen to match the image. For Fine Art Prints, I use top-of-the-line Photo Rag Bright White matte cotton paper made by Hahnemühle, a German company that is over 400 years old and known for its excellence. The choice of matte paper reduces reflections from light sources (though the glass choice in a frame will affect this too). While I have offered less expensive print paper versions in the past, I find that the images are best displayed and experienced on a high quality paper with moderate texture. It really transforms the digital image into a tactile, real world piece of art.

Photo Print Under Acrylic

Acrylic images are ready to hang on your wall with dramatic vibrancy and built in mounting equipment. Image is printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper for color images and Illford Black and White paper for monochrome. It is then mounted to an aluminum backing for rigidity and mounting rails (included). Finally, an 1/8th of an inch of acrylic is layered on top of the print. When lit, the acrylic increases color saturation and sharpness by refracting light off the surface. It also creates a sort of three-dimensional effect. It’s a wonderful way to durably displace a piece in your home or business without the need for additional framing.

Framed Matted Print

Framed prints use the same paper as the Fine Art Print but with the addition of a ready-to-hang matted frame. My default is to use a black matte, 0.8” wide frame, 2” wide bright white mat, and glossy picture glass for the 16” by 24” size and a 1.2” wide frame, 3” wide bright white mat, and glossy picture glass for the 24” by 36: size. It is possible to create alternative frame size and colors and mat depths as requested so do not hesitate to reach out if you are interested in a custom option.
